Children's Harvest Festival

Saturday, October 10

1-4 PM

Though the windy, wet, weather chased this event indoors, it didn't hamper any of the fun and excitement. This wonderful afternoon was filled  with games, and crafts, cookie decorating,  face painting  and even a bounce house, set up inside!  Lunch was served to all, adults and children a like. This free activity was open to all children of the community, so many invited their  friends, neighbors, and relatives to enjoy the fun.

Pumpkin Day

October 3                                       Ladies Day Out                                           10:30 AM -5 PM

The ladies had a great time of fellowship at the 6th annual Pumpkin Day.  This ladies' day out  began in Portersville with a lunch at Brown's Country Kitchen.  The food is always so yummy but you have to save room for  their delicious homemade pie!  After lunch the ladies participated in a fall-themed gift exchange.  Then the ladies traveled onto Volant for an afternoon of shopping and fellowship.  The ladies returned to the church around 5:00 PM.  If you missed this year's event we are sorry you couldn't join us! Watch the web for more exciting ladies activities.

"Jammin' in the Jungle"
Amazon Outfitters
Children's Summer Program

New Heights Church of God invited all the children of Franklin Park to join us for this four day adventure into the rain forest as we went on expedition with the One True God.  We headed deep into the Amazon exploring the lush green jungle through games, crafts, songs, skits and lessons.  Each day was filled with lots of excitement. From " Frog games"  to rain stick crafts, banana bug snacks to skits with a crazy dancing toucan, there was always something happening at the outfitters camp.
The children all had a marvelous time as they learned the VBS motto;  "One God, One Savior, One Lord". Each day they explored the God of the universe; His power to create, His ability to provide and to heal, His mercy and love to save us, and His availability to all peoples.
The final day ended with some real "Jammin' in the Jungle" fun with a picnic lunch and an exciting time of games, treats, activities, and prizes.
This children's program was opened to any child age 4 through the completion of grade 5.  Through the generous donations of the congregation there was no fee or charge for this activity.  We thank each family that gave us the opportunity to get to know their child better and contributed to our mission project.  As always, the staff enjoyed the time together as much as the children.

If you missed this year's event check back in the spring when we will be planning another fun week of summer activities with our Children's Ministry or contact the church office and we will notify you of our next event!
